Good quality video singing live on Top Of The Pops 1981. Chas & Dave (often billed as Chas n Dave) are an English pop rock duo, most notable as creators and performers of a musical style labelled "rockney", which mixes "pub singalong, music-hall humour, boogie-woogie piano and pre-Beatles rock n roll". For a time, "Rockney" was also the name of their record label, and they achieved several British chart hits, their major breakthrough being "Gertcha" in 1979, which peaked at No.20 and was the first of eight Top 40 hit singles the duo played on. The act has also enjoyed nine best-selling albums. It was announced in September 2009 that the pair would no longer be working together as Dave Peacock planned to retire from the band following the recent death of his wife. However, in 2010 the band announced a final tour in 2011. In the 1970s Chas & Dave were prominent session musicians, playing for a wide range of artists; for instance - the hook used on Eminems "My Name Is" was taken from a Labi Siffre tune, "I Got The", on which Chas & Dave performed. The rockney style was from the start intentional, as they felt an alternative to the way British bands copied American accents was needed. Chas has said " I was singing in an American accent. I thought, Youre being a fraud, you should sing in your own accent, and thats when I started to work on the idea. Episode Date: Monday 23rd May 2011. Part 1 of 2. Writer: Sarah Bagshaw Director: Adrian Bean Summary: With Cameron away on a driving job, Chas forces a disinterested Debbie into a night at the pub. At the same time, Jai buys Charity flowers in the hope of getting her to help with an urgent order at the factory. Still offended by their previous row, Charity refuses, claiming shes paying her way by taking a job with Chas which starts that night. Charity quickly convinces Chas to let her work a shift, to Moiras annoyance. As Carl and Chas row in the pub, Debbie defends Chas, reminding Carl of his affair with Eve. When Carl cant resist wondering when Cameron will fall under Eves spell too, Debbie grabs a pint and pours it over his head as Chas throws him out and orders Debbie go to the back room. Charity insists that emotional Debbie should have a drink to calm down, but Debbie bursts into tears, explaining that she cant because shes pregnant... Meanwhile, Jimmy begs Rodney to help him win Nicola back, explaining that his life is nothing without her and Angel. Rodney tries to convince Nicola to give Jimmy a chance, but she wont listen. Elsewhere, Dermot tells Declan that hell lose Ella if he doesnt pay her a bit more attention, and Moira and John force Cain to take some cash for fixing the car.

Summary: A livid Chas admits shed be hurt if she could see beyond blind fury and is determined to make Eve and Carl pay for their sordid deception. Sensing Chass anguish, Charity implores her to hold out and make Carl pay for his deceit, so they replace the bra where they found it. Eve tries to steal a moment with Carl, but he insists they need to locate her missing bra first. Assuming the coast is clear, Carl is relieved to finally find the bra underneath the sofa, but as he stuffs it into his pocket, he jumps as Chas suddenly appears from upstairs proclaiming she felt too ill to go out. How will Chas seek the ultimate revenge? Meanwhile, Adam insists on teaching his sister a life lesson and takes her to visit Jackson, but Aaron is unhappy over his methods. Later, when Hazels painkillers go missing, Adam lays into Holly for stealing them. She denies doing so, but is she telling the truth? Elsewhere, Val starts to wonder if there could be some truth in Amys claims about the foster placement, and Viv enjoys Bobs company but is disappointed when he leaves in favour of finding out how Hazel is.
