Entry from: Boadilla del Camino, Spain Entry Title: "The Meseta" Entry: "Internet connectivity has been spotty for a couple of days and will continue to be for the next couple of days. We left Burgos July 1. The beginning of our walk across the Meseta was a long two days in order to catch up to Tom and Pam. The first day is 30 kilometers, or 18.6 miles. The second day is a little less, only 29.2 kilometers, or 18.1 miles. We stayed the first night in a sleepy village called Hontanas and then a place called Boadilla which turned out to be an Oasis. We have met some remarkable people along the road. We have been surrounded by angels and prophets. Our first day on the Meseta was no exception. About 10K out of Burgos we met some students from Virginia. They are part of a group of 19 students taking a semester course on pilgrimages. Soon we caught up to a long haired bearded man talking non stop and figured, this has got to be the evil professor who has brought these young men and women to the Camino for 3 college credits. His name is Kip and what a wonderful fun walk and talk we had with him. He had some great stories, a few of which some of you will hear in a homily or two. He has written papers and taught several courses on the power of pilgrimage. We left him in Hornillos and traveled on to Hontanas ...
