Historia de la ciudad celtibérica y romana de Tiermes (MOntejo de Tiermes, Soria, España) a través de los personajes históricos con ella relacionados. The Tiermes archaeological site, at Montejo de Tiermes, Soria (Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, Spain), stands out among the diversity of archaeological remains in the Iberian Peninsula. In the mid 1930s, Blas Taracena, the Spanish archaeologist, organised systematic digs at the site and called Tiermes "the Spanish Pompeii". Leaving aside such trite clichés, it is true that the remains of the old Celtiberian fortified hilltop village and the Roman city are one of the most interesting Spanish archaeological sites for the researcher and the visitor.

Por tierras de Soria , siempre aparece el nombre de Numancia, esa ciudad arévaca que tanto costó a Roma someter, y que ha pasado como tal a formar parte del supremo panteón heroico universal como uno de los mayores ejemplos de la lucha de un pueblo por su libertad. Pero otra ciudad , al igual que sus hermanos numantinos, y después romanos dejo en aquellas tierras sorianas constancia de su existencia, y ésta no es otra que Tiermes o Termancia, que junto con Numancia resistió a los romanos durante bastantes años, llegando a derrotarles en alguna ocasión. Fue conquistada por los romanos en el año 98 después de Cristo y estuvo habitada hasta el siglo XV.
