Visiones Nocturnales/ Nocturnal Visions: I am basically a painter of a realist tradition who begun to experiment with the digital media as an optional tool to the creative process. This is a recollection of a number of my paintings of Apocalyptical landscapes. I create my images the traditional way, drawing and painting meticulous images, which I turn digital and enhance them using a number of softwares such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Painters and others. The digital media allows me to enhance and even change color value and even make changes by adding other elements. The digital media gives flexibility, for the possibilities are endless. In 1986 I begun to do digital drawings on a McDraw and Mc Paint softwares using a mouse as a drawing tool, later by 1998 I became familiar with Photoshop and the first images I begun to work, (instead of photographs like the media originally was made for), I scanned and photographed my paintings and drawings which was the base of my creative vision. In this video I mixed the sound of two musical compositions: the Beethoven 5th Symphony and the sound track of the movie: The Day the Earth Stood Still. A paranoid young woman feels she is being followed by some dark shadow. A shadow that turns in to some stranger, a human dressed in dark costumes. No one seems to physically perceive that stranger who seems to materialize only to her. Two men at a public park give her assistance after she was supposedly horrified by this dark Zorro-like attire man. The woman calls her boy friend in total fear and urged him to come over. The two men walked her back to her car and she waits inside when all the sudden she spotted this dark attire figure seated behind her. She screams and rushed outside to find out that there is no one seated on her cars back seat. Her boy friend finally shows up and she noticed that his belt buckle is the same as that stranger in dark who was supposedly after her. No one really can tell if she actually saw such dark shadow behind her or was a product of her imagination. The Music and sound is a mixed overlapping of the following movies soundtrack: Dark Knight, The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Fellowship of the Ring and Gladiator end theme. The actors in this experimental video are local professionals in the field of the Visual Arts. The video was written, directed, filmed and edited by visual and multimedia artist Miguel Conesa Osuna for special multimedia and mixed media presentation.
