Entry from: Santa Cruz, Chile Entry Title: "Santa Cruz" Entry: "We finally managed to find our way out of the city of Santiago after picking up a hire car and travelling the same road 3 times trying to find an entry to a flyover. A GPS would have been handy but the company we rented from was out of them. Anyway, once out on the open road we were fine and after the usual industrial outskirts of a city we were in the countryside in agricultural areas with roadside stalls selling fruit and vegetables. After we turned off the Pan-American highway, into the Colchagua valley, heading to Santa Cruz we drove past endless fields of corn and grape vines. Beautiful weather and countryside made it a pleasant drive. The town of Santa Cruz (about 200km S of Santiago) is very small and our hotel was in the pretty town square. It was built in the style of a hacienda and had beautiful gardens with climbing scented roses, geraniums, bouganvillae, scented jasmine as well as more tropical palms. The area has a Mediterranean style climate and we headed straight for the outdoor pool for a cooling swim to relax after our drive. The owner of the hotel was an international arms dealer and he also built and owns the museum next door which our room overlooked. We thought that we would pop in to the museum for a quick look and 3 ...

MARCÓ LA DIFERENCIA DENTRO DE LA IGLESIA CATÓLICA. NO ERA EL "PAPA LEJANO"...EL PAPA QUE NO SE PODÍA TOCAR, ERA EL PAPA DEL PUEBLO, EL PAPA AMIGO. DUDO MUCHO QUE TENGAMOS OTRO NI SIQUIERA PARECIDO A ÉL. NO ME MUEVE TANTO LA FE AL CREAR ESTE CLIP, COMO LA PERSONA QUE LO PROTAGONIZA: UN GRAN SER HÚMANO. "HE MARKED THE WITHIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. HE WAS NOT THE DISTANT POPE...THE POPE THAT I COULD NOT TOUCH, BUT HE WAS THE PEOPLES POPE, THE FRIENDLY POPE. I DOUBT VERY MUCH THAT THAT WE WOULD EVER HAVE ANOTHER ONE LIKE HIM, NOT EVEN CLOSE. IT DOES NOT MOTIVATES ME SO MUCH THE FAITH, TO HAVE CREATED THIS VIDEO, BUT THE PERSON WHO LEADS IT: A GREAT HUMAN BEING."

Entry from: Santa Cruz, United States Entry Title: "Pacific Coast Highway- Carpinteria to Santa Cruz" Entry: "Cruising up the Pacific Coast Highway along Big Sur on our way to Santa Cruz, we saw elephant bull seals, had a great dinner with the Porterfields in Pismo Beach, and tried to eat as many delicious California strawberries as possible. In Santa Cruz, we camped out and rode our bikes into town to check out the amusement park on the boardwalk before riding down to Pacific Blvd for a beer. We locked our bikes and came back 90 minutes later to find the lock cut and Darrens bike stolen. It was our first major hiccup of our trip and a bitter pill to swallow. Heres hoping thats the worst act we encounter on our trip!" Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. "Driving the Pacific Coast Highway" 2. "Sunset in Carpinteria" 3. bit.ly Within an hour after a major earthquake rattled Japan, the nation and the world watched a surreal and unprecedented scene from a helicopter hovering above the coastal area of Miyagi prefecture: Neat rows of tilled farmland being cleaved by a wall of water, with a white ship sweeping across the soil . Behind it, a massive wave of mud, debris and burning buildings atop the rushing water. "Weve never seen this -- were watching a live tsunami strike Japan," said CNN International meteorologist Ivan Cabrera. "Those are not taped pictures, that appears to be live pictures of a major tsunami strike the coast." Tokyo residents shook off the horror of the 8.9-magnitude earthquake only to watch on television as the first tsunami waves crashed into coastal areas hundreds of miles northeast of the city. Moment of the Japan quake CNN bureau in Japan experiences quake Refinery ablaze after quake RELATED TOPICS Earthquakes "The footage that were seeing, the video that were seeing on the television screens is absolutely heart wrenching," said Matt Alt, a Tokyo resident. "Because you know a lot of those people did not have a chance to evacuate before the wave hit, even though they were telling you need to get away from the shore lines. "Just watching this wave hit and cars and buildings and houses being spent away, I think were going to see a significant number of casualties," Alt said. So far the number of casualties is not known. In Japan, one of the most wired nations in ...
