VIDEO ILUSTRACIÓN: www.asturiasverde.com Situado en el centro histórico de Villaviciosa, este gran palacio se encuentra en esquina de la calle José Caveda y Nava con la plazuela de Peón. El edificio tiene planta rectangular, tres pisos bajo la gran cubierta de madera y, sobre ésta, un cuerpo abuhardillado con dos ventanas. www.asturiasverde.com Video Ilustración = Fotos Dominio Público = Datos Históricos =:: La iglesia de Santa María de la Oliva se encuentra en Villaviciosa, Principado de Asturias. Se construyó en 1270 y se considera arte Románico tardío ya que en dicha época se produce la transición al nuevo estilo Gótico. La iglesia destaca por su conjunto escultórico. La iglesia de Santa María fue declarada Monumento Nacional en 1931. En las paredes del templo encontramos cinco arcosolios con tumbas. Al exterior, la iglesia presenta tres portadas, siendo la principal la orientada al oeste. Se trata de una portada de cuatro arcos abocinados, con un ligero apuntamiento. Los capiteles son historiados y en las columnas se adosan medias figuras, desgraciadamente mutiladas en la Guerra Civil. De época gótica son el rosetón calado y la imagen del tímpano representando a Nuestra Señora.
