Me and my Cuz Taking a cruise in my uncles truck through Las Animas Zacatecas, It was HIS first time recording video with my camcorder. Too much jumping around. You can hear the "Gas" Truck honking, and You can hear the glasspack exhaust on the truck. Sometime in 2009 I think?

Chased eastern Colorado and caught the Las Animas/Ft. Lyon tornadoes. Later in the afternoon we chased the cell in SW Kansas that produced many tornadoes as well...

www.SevereWeatherVideo.com ©Scott McPartland June 11th, 2009 was a fun and exciting chase day, even though we didnt see any tornadoes on that day. What we did see was a pair of LP Supercells form near the towns of La Junta and Las Animas, CO that put down an extended hail event! These storms had incredible hooks on radar, but the bases were a bit too high for tornado genesis. Still though, they offered up some incredible structure and some nice size hail! Dave and I drove in and out of several hail cores, partly because we do enjoy hail, and partly because we were also anxious to try out our newly designed driver and passenger size retractable hail guards! They performed great and kept our glass intact! At times the hail was coming down so hard that it looked like it had snowed, most of the hail wasnt too huge overall, but what it lacked in size, it made up for in intensity! Thanks for watching!
