Entry from: Vega de Valcarce, Spain Entry Title: "Leon to Vega de Valcarce" Entry: "The second part of our journey has begun - first a week along the northern coast of Spain, just Jim and I, and now a week with "Team Canada" on the Camino de Santiago! We met Brad, John & Julia for breakfast in Leon, then walked over to the Old Towne to see Plaza Mayor teeming with people at the weekly Wednesday market. Jim, in his neon-coloured tie-dyed t-shirt, blended in well with the colourful fruits, vegetables, spices, meats, cheeses, shoes, bras & underwear that were for sale. We then checked out of our hotel in Leon and took a cab to meet the rest of our Spanish Steps group. Let me introduce them.... Judy (owner of Spanish Steps & team leader) Martha (pronounced Marta - Judys assistant and second-in-command) Pepe (driver - doesnt speak a word of English but has the most wonderful personality and sweetest smile) John & Julia (friends from Shawnigan Lake) Nancy, Lynne, Sandi (friends from West Vancouver/Vancouver) Brad (friend from Ontario) Tina (the 9th member of our group - a 50 year-old ex-Emergency Room nurse originally from Texas, now living in Washington, who is a paralegal and is also a Commander in the Army Reserves; shes gone to war twice in Iraq and once in Afghanistan. 05:46 MinutosEn el camino de Santiago vas pasando por muchos pueblos....pueblos grandes....pueblos más pequeños....y otras veces simplemente son un pequeño grupo de casas cercanas ...y estos son los más bonitos, para mí, es aquí donde se vive la esencia del camino....pueblo pequeño, poca gente y un ambiente tranquilo donde puedes disfrutar de una agradable conversación con los lugareños, Este es un pueblo de esos, si un día lo visitas te gustara, Un saludo.

Avant de rejoindre le chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle, nous avons profité dune journée à Leon. Et oui, pour se rendre en Castille depuis la Haute-Savoie, le transport aérien est le plus rapide, mais il arrive le soir. Arrivée à Leon le 15 juillet au soir, Le lendemain à Leon, nous avons visité la ville et sa Cathédrale avant de partir en car le soir pour Vega de Valcarce. Départ de bonheur le matin du 17 juillet 2009 pour se lancer sur les flancs du col dO Cebreiro. Col qui ouvre la porte sur la traversée de la Galice.
