Entry from: Lezo, Philippines Entry Title: "Lezo, Aklan" Entry: "Tuesday Morning, after the long travel was a bit of a lazy day. We took a walk through Lezo, and also went into Kalibo for some shopping. Lezo is a sleepy little village. It has a small market area, and a few stores. However almost every second house has a store in front. This is something that seems pretty normal in the Philippines. Houses will have a little booth in front by the gate, or if the house is close enough to the road, there will be a store attached. These are not stores you would walk around in, but a counter, with things displayed behind the counter and you ask for what you want. Lezo has a huge church, very old, a small library, police station, health office and a huge pottery area, which is, besides rice farming, one of the main industries. We did a walk about the church, and even climbed up to the top of the bell tower (no bell) and got some pics from on high. We then toured the Lezo pottery. This is one of the main attractions for this town. As you see in the pics, the pottery is made by hand and fired in a kiln right there. Just past the pottery is the Aklan River.
