Prelude from the 2nd Cello Suite transcribed and played by me, Samantha Muir. I made this transcription using the Barenreiter Urtext Edition for Cello which utilises several sources, including the manuscript in the hand of Anna Magdelena. I also used Stanley Yates edition as a reference. Less virtuosic than the Preludes from Suites I, III, IV and VI this Prelude has a freer, more improvised feel. I have always found it hauntingly beautiful with an undertow of melancholy which seems most appropriate for autumn. The photos are kindly provided by my friend Josie! Thanks, and hope you enjoy!
