After exploring the Puerto Del Rey Marina, we climbed aboard East Island Excursions fast power catamaran for a 45-minute ride to the island of Vieques. Once in Vieques we were shuttled over to Island Adventures for a yummy dinner, before boarding a rickety old bus to Mosquito Bay. From here, we boarded a flat electric pontoon boat which took us out into the Bay, where we were able to float and swim and experience the bioluminescence of the glowing Bay. (Sorry, due to the darkness of the night, I do not have actual photos of us in the Bay).

By the time we arrived the seas had grown and the turn into the anchorage was fraught with whitecaps. We skated in, picked up a free DNR mooring and ate quickly as we watched a Fountaine Pajot bounce out and several large motor yachts rock their way out. We were crushed to have to rush as the setting was spectacular. I would highly recommend a spring or summer visit here. The forecast was for accelerating winds so we headed down the Culebra coast to Ensenada Honda where we tucked up behind Cayo Pirata and anchored amidst a number of small sailboats...one with a bagpiper aboard. By the time we were settled, a couple of beers and an early dinner seemed just right. In the morning we took a wet ride into the Dinghy Dock Restaurant at ...
