Este libro, El habla tradicional de la Omaña Baja, trata de hacer una recopilación sistematizada de las características lingüísticas de los hablantes de los pueblos situados en los valles y planicies de la cuenca baja del río Omaña. Es un acercamiento al paisaje y al paisanaje lingüístico de los omañeses, desde el clima, las labores del campo, las costumbres, la vestimenta, las fiestas, la gastronomía..., para dejar constancia de que esa tierra, Reserva Mundial de la Biosfera, sigue viva en su palabra. Se analizan las características generales del habla de la zona, destacando los rasgos del leonés que aún perviven. Se recoge un vocabulario de cerca de tres mil palabras, unas propiamente leonesas, otras compartidas con el castellano, pero con un matiz específicamente leonés, y muchas otras que forman parte del uso agrícola y la vida tradicional y que están a punto de desaparecer para siempre.
