Waited for a fair forecast and took off with a moderate sea,which kept building and building to approx. F7 (Force 7 is about 28-30knots of wind),which in the deep Sea of Cortez also funnels down,creating large swells and waves.Anyway,Windstrutter is stronger than us! However,we did well considering shes 54 feet long and we had to hand steer all that way,with little rest 9luckily i made food prior to departure).It was fantastic too as pods of dolphins sped past in the phosphorescence, looking like brilliantly lit torpedoes.The night went on and at daylight there was no respite in the weather,except the sun did come up as usual and the sky was blue and the air quite warm.We arrived in the narrow and quaint harbour of Sta.Rosalia,BCS, at 12.00, just in time for a tequila to celebrate our arrival. What an incredibly strange and wonderful place.Weve anchored off the little old marina (there is also a new one with about three boats in it) that got a bashing in Hurricane Jimena last year,but its been hobbled together and still continues,with it wooden oficina that like the rest of the town was built when it was a copper mining town.
