Taus means peacock , the National bird of India and at time the throne of India was called Taus , the most precious jewels , diamond and rubies studded throne of Delhi . Satguru ji developed and was very proficient in doing keertan himself in Ragas and is difficult instrument . Rabab was introduced by Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji . The first rabab with which Guru Nanak Dev ji sang was played by Bhai Mardana ji . Guru Nanak Dev ji got it made with special instructions and though Rababi Mardana ji used to play before Satguru ji chose him to be first keertania , but keertan rabab was specially made and was made at a small music shop in present Sultanpur Lodhi .Gurudwara Rababsar stands their today . Saranda was introduced by Guru Arjan Dev ji . When Satguru ji started compilation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji he sat by Amrit Sarovar at place called today Athsath Teerath right next to Dukhbhanjni Beri in Parikarma of Sri Darbar Sahib and Satguru ji sang dhur ki bani for the whole night and thus is the instrument of first Raensabai Keertan .
