www.artehistoria.com En el Paleolítico Superior, hace entre 18.000 y 14.000 años, la Cueva de Altamira estuvo habitada por poblaciones de Homo sapiens sapiens. La cueva se encuentra situada en la parte alta de una de las suaves colinas que rodean el valle donde se asienta actualmente Santillana del Mar, en Cantabria. La entrada de la cueva tenía una amplia boca de 20 metros de ancho y seis de alto, que daba acceso a un vestíbulo de unos 200 metros cuadrados. Este espacio era el lugar de habitación, estando iluminado por la luz del día. Aquí se realizaba la vida en torno a hogares, siendo un lugar lleno de actividad y objetos de uso cotidiano. Sus pobladores vivían de la caza, la pesca, la recolección y el marisqueo. Vestían prendas muy diversas confeccionadas con pieles de animales, que les protegían del clima frío. Su indumentaria no se diferenciaba sustancialmente de la actual: pantalones, casacas, capuchas, chubasqueros, botas... Sus prendas se adornaban con colgantes y objetos de hueso, conchas o dientes. Para su labor diaria, disponían de numerosos instrumentos en sílex, hueso y asta, especializados para cada uso como cuchillos, raspadores, punzones, arpones, azagayas, agujas, buriles, etc. El fuego de los hogares les proporcionaba luz y calor, les servía para ahuyentar las fieras y cocinar alimentos. Carlos Alberto Arroyo Bermudez (born July 30, 1979 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player. Arroyo is the fifth player from Puerto Rico to play in the NBA and has become arguably the most successful of them in NBA history. He is currently playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, Israel. Arroyo has played in the NBA, NCAA, and the National Superior Basketball League of Puerto Rico (BSN) with the Cangrejeros de Santurce and Fajardo. Arroyo has also played internationally in Spain. Arroyo was a member of the Puerto Rican National Basketball Team that most notably defeated the United States at the 2004 Olympic Basketball Tournament. He also represented Puerto Rico at the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan.
