On the North coast of Mallorca you find the small fishermen landing place, now converted to private cottages. We walked from Valldemossa towards Port de Valldemossa, turning onto the dirt track along the coast. You can actually leave your car here. Or nearby. This saves you a long and tiring part back uphill to Valldemossa on the return trip. More about Mallorca walking on www.MallorcaFact.com

A beautiful old town in north-west Majorca sits on the slopes of the Tramuntana mountains. The town gained some sort of fame when Polish composer Frederic Chopin came and stayed at the Carthusian monastery (Cartoixa Reial) with his lover George Sand in the winter of 1838-39. The composer had tuberculosis but still managed to produce some of his best work here while Sand wrote a book called "A Winter in Majorca". Thanks for your watching, rating & subscribing. Monestir de Miramar is placed not far Valldemossa and Deià. It has awesome landscape and stunning view over the Mediterranean Sea and Mallorcas west coast. Monestir de Miramar was founded by King Jaume II ( the first King of Mallorca) by a request of Ramon Llull in 1276. It was not only a monastery but a missionary college dedicated to the teaching of Arabic and other oriental languages. The Archduke Ludwig Salvatore of Austria (1847-1915) (the second cousin of Emperor Franz Joseph) bought this property in 1872. Ramon Llull (1232-1315) was a Mallorcan writer, philosopher and mystic. He is considered to be one of the most influential authors in the Catalan language. He established the Catalan language in its written form. Thanks for your watching, rating & subscribing.
