Homage to Virxilio Vieitez, the greatest Galician photographer I know. I went to his town of Soutelo de Montes after being truly impressed by his works, shown now at a great exhibit at the Marco Museum in Vigo which runs until April 2011. As his kind widow told me, he was born, he lived, and he passed away in the house they both built together, which is number 17 as shown here. By chance I met José Antonio Fernández, a neighbor of Virxilios who was walking in the very cold and windy afternoon to his wood cabin. He was my guide and he told me about his immigrant days in Venezuela. Another nice person, the local museum lady, showed me very interesting remnants of the past, such as a school desk and a candle-making device. I also saw the daughter of the woman in black who smiles at Virxilios camera sitting next to her radio, which she valued highly.
